Breakfast in Bed With #PhillyChocolate? Yes Please!

I am not a huge breakfast person.  More specifically I don't like a huge breakfast.  I like something a little on the smaller side packed with the good things that will keep me going until lunch time. During the week I tend to eat breakfast at my desk but on the weekends we eat a little bit later and are able to sit down as a family.  A breakfast favorite in our house is a nutritious whole grain bagel topped with cream cheese and maybe some fresh fruit on the side.  Despite my daughter's idea to the contrary, I normally don't count chocolate as an acceptable breakfast food.  Until now!

DYI Coloured Carnations - Pretty and Fun!

This Mother's Day we went to brunch at our local science center.  In the spirit of science all the moms in attendance were treated with a flower and a science experiment.  I've seen coloured carnations like this in stores before but had no idea how easy they are to make yourself!

Health Canada advises that the wooden slats on these gates may come detached. About 13,000 of these gates have been sold across Canada at various retailers including:  Costco, Sears and Walmart. The effect gates were sold between June 2012 and April 2013.

Joy, Loss & Love on Mother's Day

As I sit here writing this post, on Mother's Day, I am watching my precious little girl take a nap.  We had an awesome morning, playing, going to brunch and just being a family.  I am blessed.

It's been a great day but I have to tell you something.  This morning when I woke up, with my little princess beside me, I felt a little sad.  Not for me. But for the mom's who aren't as lucky as I am. For all the moms who do not get to hold their little ones today. Some of them have never had the chance to celebrate Mother's Day with their child. Some of them have but no more.  Some of them are blessed with more children but still have lost.
